The Best Christmas Trees For Small Spaces

The holiday season is almost here and for many of us that means it’s time to start decorating and bring on the holiday cheer!! Last year I downsized from a 6-bedroom house to a 3-bedroom townhouse so space is much more limited.

For those of us living in small apartments, studios, or houses with limited square footage, finding the perfect tree can be a challenge. I am downsizing my own Christmas tree and thought it would be a great time to share a roundup of small Christmas trees for others who might be in a similar situation. So, if you’re ready to get in the holiday spirit, let’s dive in!

Mini Christmas Trees

If you want a Christmas tree that stays on the floor but doesn’t overwhelm the room, a mini Christmas tree is the perfect solution. These small Christmas trees, generally around 3 to 5 feet tall, bring the joy of a full-sized tree into smaller spaces without dominating the entire room. They’re ideal for a small apartment, a cozy living room, a snug dining area, or even a small bedroom, adding just the right amount of holiday cheer without cramping your style.

Mini trees give you the look of a traditional tree but are easier to tuck into corners or place near a window in a small room. Add a few strands of twinkling lights, some mini ornaments, and a festive tree skirt, and you have a charming Christmas setup that doesn’t require too much room. Plus, these trees are great for those with curious pets or little ones since they’re low enough to enjoy but small enough to manage... as long as your ornaments aren't breakable!

Tabletop Christmas Trees

If you love the look of a Christmas tree but need something compact, a tabletop Christmas tree might be your best bet. These smaller trees typically range from 1 to 3 feet and are designed to sit on surfaces like dining tables, fireplace mantels, or entryway consoles. They offer the look and feel of a traditional Christmas tree in a size that doesn’t take up too much room.

Tabletop trees are also ideal for adding festive decor to different areas of your home, creating little pockets of holiday cheer without cluttering up your main living space.

Slim Christmas Trees

For those with a bit of floor space but still limited room, slim Christmas trees are a beautiful compromise. These trees maintain the height of a full-sized Christmas tree but with a narrower base, making them a stylish solution for small living rooms, bedrooms, or dining areas. Slim trees can reach from floor to (almost) ceiling without overpowering the room, giving you that classic holiday look without sacrificing too much floor space.

Decorate with mini ornaments and twinkling lights for a festive touch that’s big on holiday spirit but compact on space. They’re perfect for bringing Christmas cheer to tighter spaces without feeling cramped.

Wall-Mounted Christmas Trees

If you’re really pressed for space or want something a bit outside the box, a wall-mounted Christmas tree could be your perfect solution. These trees are designed to hang on the wall, saving valuable floor space while still giving you the vibe of a traditional tree.

Wall trees come in a variety of shapes and designs—some look like a classic tree silhouette, while others are crafted from branches or even fairy lights shaped into the form of a tree. They’re a fun, modern way to decorate, especially for small apartments or spaces with limited square footage. They also make a wonderful backdrop for holiday photos and are super pet-friendly!
